JOB PURPOSE AND REPORTING STRUCTURE
Under the direction of the VP Business Development, the New Business Development Manager will develop new high margin business opportunities that result in growth through portfolio expansion. Responsible for the creation, management and execution of specific tactical and strategic proposals covering the entire range of the new business cycle, including business planning, customer proposal development, presentation and negotiation. Works closely and acts as a key member of the cross functional Commercial team focused on driving growth.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop new business opportunities (NBO) and closely facilitate their commercialization. Manage pipeline of applicable NBOs to be consistent with overall strategic business plan focused on growth.
Develop and execute tactical growth plans and programs in the short term for new high margin product opportunities capitalizing on the company's current core competencies. Includes the development and presentation of specific proposals to target and strategic customers.
Develop comprehensive business plans to support the justification of adding new capabilities and/or capacity to support priority opportunities. Proposals will be developed by working closely with a cross functional team that may include R&D, Product Management, Engineering, Operations and Finance. If required, provide market concept by initially sourcing products from supply chain partners.
Experience with R2R in the medical industry.
Assist in the development of sales forecasts, quotes and pricing methods.
Research, analyze and monitor financial, technological and competitive factors so that market opportunities may be capitalized on and the effects of competitive activity may be minimized.
Use insight in a manner that results in development or modification of business plans.
Network extensively to promote the Materion capabilities and image to relevant external stakeholders. Includes representing Materion at tradeshows, technical conferences and industry events.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Requires education generally equivalent to:
Bachelor's degree in technology and/or business administration
10 years of experience with increasing responsibility in the field of product management,
sales or business development.
