We are seeking professionals who are as passionate about pervasive learning and knowledge-sharing as we are. Our flagship Claim University training facility in Windsor, Conn. is designed to build on our long tradition of providing customers with highly-trained, expert Claim professionals. Our 108,000-square-foot state of the art educational facility provides Travelers' Claim professionals the in-depth hands-on training and expertise they need to provide knowledgeable, accurate and efficient claim service for customers and agents.
Claim University delivers hands-on training for about 8,500 students annually through a variety of on-site labs, including:
- A property lab with two full-size, fully-furnished resident homes complete with full mechanicals; one full-size, fully-stocked commercial convenience store with full mechanicals; and numerous smaller-scale mock-up demonstrations showing construction detail to support material identification, damage reparability and installation procedures
- An auto lab containing approximately 30 damaged vehicles to demonstrate various types of damage; working demonstrations of different auto mechanical, electrical and body systems; and a frame machine, lift and paint booth
- An industry-first heavy equipment lab with construction equipment, crane boom, dump truck, tractor-trailers, refrigerated truck and numerous smaller mechanical mock-ups
And through alternative delivery channels including Web casting, video streaming, video conferencing and learning embedded in the tools employees use every day, Claim University also provides long-distance training for approximately 10,000 additional employees.
Responsibilities:
- Designs learning solutions that accomplish specific, measurable objectives in support of Claim/line of business strategy.
- Creates performance based solutions in support of instructional design plan, e.g.: classroom instructor materials/ facilitator guides; distance learning platforms; performance based resources.
- May lead design projects to delivering applicable learning solutions.
- Understands and usually participates in solution development processes.
- Uses a range of formats and instructional design strategies to optimize results.
- Understands impact of learning solution on business strategy.
- Applies evaluative information to improve/enhance learning solutions.
- Provides feedback to CU partners on program effectiveness and opportunities for improvement.
Qualifications:
College degree or equivalent experience in adult learning techniques, instructional design, and customer service.
- 5 - 10 years of professional experience.
- Knowledge and demonstrated application of instructional design and adult learning theory required.
- Experience applying instructional design models.
- Excellent PC skills. Experience using training development tools/applications a plus (e.g. SharePoint, Articulate and Lectora).
- Demonstrable focus on continuous self-development and exploring new trends, strategies and practices as learning and development evolves.
- Project management experience preferred.
- Experience writing and developing training materials preferred.
- Professional learning and development credentials preferred.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
