What are the job responsibilities? Perform all aspects of Software Development Life Cycle, including problem investigation, business analysis, design, implementation, maintenance and support as part of a technology team focused on support of our Investment Management organization.
The candidate should possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and hold a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or similar curriculum.
Financial services experience is desired but not required.
Who is our ideal candidate? 1. This candidate will be involved in longer term project implementation in addition to working on smaller project tasks. The ability to multi-task is essential.
2. The candidate will need to be able to work independently and within a small team.
3. The candidate is expected to build a strong rapport with the Client Service, Marketing, Finance and Operations teams, as well as the other information technology team members.
4. The ideal candidate must be flexible and have strong verbal and written communication skills to facilitate prompt problem resolution.
5. This role includes business day user support for applications developed and supported by our team. The ideal candidate will be able to quickly understand how each application functions in order to troubleshoot issues, determine appropriate resolution and communicate resolution clearly with our internal customers.
6. This role involves being included support rotation in order to weekend system verification following infrastructure changes. Being available for after normal business hours support is sometimes required.
1. BS Degree in Computer Science or similar curriculum.
2. Between 4-10 years of application development experience.
3. Strong relational database development experience is required, including database design and implementation. Microsoft SQL Server is preferred (MS SQL2012/2008/2005).
4. At least 4 years working with other Microsoft Development tools, including TFS, C#.NET, and/or .
5. Experience with Web development tools, specifically HTML5, is a plus.
6. Knowledge of and experience implementing applications using the MVC architectural pattern.
7. Experience supporting job processing streams and scheduling environment, while not required, is a plus.
8. Experience with Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services, while not required, is a plus.
1. Investment Management background is a strong plus.
2. Experience developing financial applications and understanding financial concepts are desired but not required.
3. Experience supporting and developing applications for Equity or Fund of Funds investment groups including trading systems, trade order entry systems, decision support portfolio management systems, securities databases, financial accounting systems and/or databases is a strong plus.
