Position Overview:
Serves as integral member of the small/middle market specialty underwriting team by handling routine underwriting processing requests. Position is designed to support underwriters in servicing their assigned book of business. This requires developing an understanding of underwriting principles, strategies and product knowledge. Responsibilities of this position include preparatory work and set up for renewal and new business accounts. Focus on strong customer service, data integrity and quality production.
Responsibilities/Essential Functions :
-Renewal preparatory work and initial review and set up including claim data.
-Pre-renewal solicitation letters to agents.
-Non-renewal and conditional renewal preparatory review and work order set up.
-Follow up with agents for renewal information or additional information as needed.
-Follow up with agents for renewal and new business bind orders.
-Verify that all necessary documentation in file.
-Handle loss run requests.
-First point of contact for mid-term endorsement requests, general questions, billing questions and service issues.
-Rush new business account set up and clearance.
-Act as liaison between underwriters, agents and process support.
-Approving and processing underwriting transactions within your authority.
-Referring all prepared transactions outside of your authority to the underwriter for their review and approval.
-Works with department leadership to facilitate continued operational improvements and efficiencies.

Position Requirements: Required Skills & Experience and Competencies:
-Associate's degree or equivalent.
-2
years of related insurance experience.
-Strong organizational and time management skills.
-Excellent interpersonal skills, including strong customer service phone skills.
-Strong written and verbal communication.
-Attention to detail.
-Solid understanding of business technologies and workflows.
-Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
-Ability to exercise initiative, decision making and judgment.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
