Summary:


Reporting directly to the Director of Engineering, the Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for identifying, leading, and driving improvements throughout manufacturing centered on safety, compliance, product quality, throughput, and yield. The Manufacturing Engineer will work cross functionally to resolve complex issues that impact manufacturing capability in a pharmaceutical environment.



Essential Functions:


  • Analyze existing manufacturing process to identify and implement improvements to increase safety, quality, and cost.
  • Manage multidisciplinary teams, leading a project from conception to completion.
  • Convert existing batch processes to one piece flow processes where applicable.
  • Develop and implement hourly production tracking boards or system.
  • Perform time studies, calculate takt times, and establish standard productivity metrics.
  • Evaluate and provide economic justification of projects.
  • Troubleshoot, support, and continuously improve existing automated solutions.
  • Perform engineering analyses and apply problem-solving methods to support new process development and sustaining production. Perform root cause and corrective action on parts and processes that are not in control.
  • Organize and manage manufacturing workflows and resources.
  • Generate procedures and work instructions to prescribed style and format.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Qualifications &
Experience:


  • Bachelor's degree in manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical Engineering or similar required.
  • 3
    years hands on experience implementing process improvements in a medium to high volume manufacturing setting.
  • Experience in workflow optimization, work measurement, efficiencies.
  • Experience designing one piece flow lines/cells.
  • Lean Six Sigma training/experience/certification preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:


  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Project)
  • Knowledge of manufacturing process improvement techniques utilizing engineering methodologies a plus, including, but not limited to Continuous Improvements, Lean Six Sigma, TPS, etc.
  • Ability to effectively problem solve.
  • Deep understanding of principles, methodologies, and concepts related to process development, process validation, and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to successfully prioritize and manage large projects, deadlines, and tasks while working independently or with a team.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to take strategic objectives and accept accountability to drive results through effective actions.
  • Knowledge of cGMP plant operations preferred.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
