This position is part of the UPSEU bargaining unit.
Your typical work activities will include:
Receive, monitor and transmit emergency and informational communications Operate a variety of public safety communications equipment including 911 telephone equipment, computer aided dispatch systems, and multi-channel radio systems Assign and dispatch appropriate emergency vehicles, equipment, and personnel in accordance with policy and procedures Answer emergency and nonemergency calls for assistance Request information from other public safety personnel, the general public and other agencies Maintain contact with all units on assignment Our ideal Candidate will:
Possess the ability to exercise excellent judgment in evaluating emergency calls Ability to multitask and prioritize especially under stressful situations Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully to patrons and team members Share and demonstrate the Town of Windsor's organizational values of integrity, innovation, passion, partnership and responsiveness Have a High School diploma or equivalent Have a minimum of two years of experience in public safety Applicants with Tele-communicator, Emergency Medical Dispatch, E911 or NIMS certifications preferred Successful completion of Town of Windsor's background and drug screening process (includes screening for marijuana) Compensation and Schedule:
Starting salary is $63,251 annually.

Shift work required:
including days, nights, weekends and holidays to meet the needs of the department.
