POSITION
Summary:
This position reports directly to the Behavioral Health Nurse Manager.
Responsible for providing direct clinical services on the Behavioral Health Unit for both adolescents and adults.
The incumbent, under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist will be involved in the development and coordination of groups and activities.
Accountable for providing individual and group treatment based upon treatment plan and unit needs.
In close collaboration with the Occupational Therapist, will ensure that treatment interventions are appropriate, meeting patient's individual functional status and up-to-date with current discipline practices.
Contributes to creating a caring and compassionate environment through ECHN's core values of respect, teamwork and communication.
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION Associate's Degree in Occupational Therapy from a college with an Accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant Program.
National Occupational Therapist Assistant Certification and State of Connecticut Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) license required.
EXPERIENCE Previous Behavioral Health experience working with adolescents, adults, geriatrics and substance abuse population in an acute care setting preferred.
COMPETENCIES Flexibility, creativity, energetic, teamwork and time management skills are required.

Participates in supervision with OTR accepting of feedback to enhance role's effectiveness as evidenced by feedback from supervisor.
5.
Provides education to inpatient staff as needed regarding interventions to improve patient functioning as evidenced by feedback from team and supervisor observations.
6.
Provides input to patient schedules, individualizing treatment for each patient as evidenced by feedback from team.
7.
Demonstrates a commitment to professional growth as evidenced by pursuing and attending relevant educational opportunities.
8.
Actively participates and collaborates in team meetings, providing pertinent functional clinical information as needed for patient care as evidenced by enhanced patient planning and feedback received from the treatment team.
9.
Responds to needs for individualized and comprehensive services as evidenced by providing services individually and/or in a group setting.
10.
Increases the visibility of OT services as evidenced by participation in activities that promote recovery through the use of functionally based therapeutic modalities.
11.
Demonstrates effective time management skills as evidenced by timely scheduling and completion of groups and required departmental documentation.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
