Primary Responsibilities are to ensure the Health and Recoverability of all databases within both the Production and non-production environments. Collaborate with Project Team to add value to what is being designed to ensure it fits into the Production landscape and can be supported. Work with Database Engineers to assist with large performance issues or infrastructure type issues and to collaborate with patching activities and vendor engaements. Support Security procedures to ensure that Customer's data is protected (grants, masking)
Must be able to support multiple databases simultaneously and engage in problem solving activities when required. Applicant must be willing to participate in pager rotation as 24x7 support is required. Applicant will also be involved in project work as bandwidth allows and must have good communication and time-tracking skills.
LOCATION: Willing to entertain a remote-working agreement with initial time spent onsite 2-4 months to help bring applicant up to speed and to evaluate
Skills UDB DBA with working experience in database architecture and physical design from several aspectys; physical data model, database infrastructure requirements, project integration requirements as well as installation on new servers/databases to meet expectations and requirements of the business. Proven experience working as a database engineer or database administrator with database obtimization, infrastructure design and coding responsibilities within the OS and database infrastructure. Must have hands-on DB2 UDB V9 (or higher) experience with the latest tuning and obtimization techniques. Solid knowledge of AIX platform; Linux and Windows; RAC; HADR; Vmax a plus.
Workin knowledge of Oracle V10 or higher would be a good add
Education Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, at least seven, typically ten or more years of solid, diverse work experience in IT, or the equivalent in education and work experience.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
